Execution Autonomy in Distributed Transaction Processing
نویسندگان
چکیده
We study the feasibility of execution autonomy in systems with asynchronous transaction processing based on epsilon-serializability (ESR). The abstract correctness criteria deened by ESR are implemented by techniques such as asynchronous divergence control and asynchronous consistency restoration. Concrete application examples in a distributed environment, such as banking, are described in order to illustrate the advantages of using ESR to support execution autonomy.

متن کاملA Mobile Transaction System for Open Networks
The evolution of mobile computing devices and wireless network has created a new mobile computing environment. Users equipped with portable devices can access, retrieve and process information while in mobility. Mobile devices like laptops; mobile phones have become more powerful data processing elements. Traditional transaction model has moved forwarding to mobile transaction system. Autonomou...
متن کاملA Distributed Transaction Management Scheme for Multidatabase Systems*
finsaction management in a multidatabase system must ensure global serializability. Local serializable execution is, by itself, not suficient to ensum global serializability, since local serialisation orders of subtmnsactions of global transactions must be the same at all systems. In this paper a distributed tmnsaction management scheme is introduced. The scheme maintains autonomy of the local ...
متن کاملUsing semantic correctness in multidatabases to achieve local autonomy, distribute coordination, and maintain global integrity
A multidatabase poses the following four, often contradictory, requirements. First, local databases require both design autonomy to accommodate the diverse legacy nature of the local databases, and execution autonomy to ensure that local transactions are not unduly blocked by global transactions. Second, management of global transactions must be distributed to avoid bottlenecks and to tolerate ...
متن کاملRobust Web Services via Interaction Contracts
Web services represent the latest effort of the information technology industry to provide a framework for cross enterprise automation. One principal characteristic of this framework is information hiding, where only the message protocol is visible to other services or client software. This environment makes it difficult to provide robust behavior for applications. Traditional transaction proce...
